DATA PROTECTION

Upon the enactment of the Law on Protection of Personal Data No. 6698 in 2016; data protection issue was put on the agenda of all companies operating in Turkey. Compliance with the Personal Data Protection Law has become a necessity for all companies, especially due to the reason that the grace period granted by the law for the completion of the compliance works within the said Law has expired as of April 2018 and the sanctions imposed by the Personal Data Protection Authority have increased recently.

Our office provides assistance to companies in the process of completing compliance studies regarding the Protection of Personal Data and ensures that its clients take every precaution to prevent possible sanctions. Our main services in this field are; managing the current due diligence and information gathering processes, determining the nature of the personal data subject to the examination in this context, preparing personal data inventories, making risk analysis by evaluating the collected data and preparing a comprehensive report related to these analyzes, drafting the documents which are mandatorily requested by Law in line with the prepared report, to prepare data sheets, to add necessary regulations regarding the protection of personal data to the contracts signed with the customers, suppliers and employees of the company, to prepare necessary instructions and policies in order to ensure the establishment of company practices regarding the protection of personal data, to provide trainings to the relevant personnel and managers of the company, and to maintain the registration of the data controllers in VERBİS (Data Controllers’ Registry Information System).
